The Books project is purely a volunteer endeavor driven by the labor and resources donated by a variety of users and developers around the world. The Books application (and source code) is made available without charge.

If you find Books to be a useful tool and if you'd like to contribute something back to the project, there are a variety of options:

1. Cash

While the time we spend working on Books is a reward in itself, the occaisional financial acknowledgement is always appreciated. If you'd like to donate to the project, you can use the following channels:

PayPal: If you send a PayPal payment to books@aetherial.net, we'll get it.

Amazon: If you're an Amazon user, this works too.

SourceForge: SourceForge also hosts a Books tip jar.

For those of you curious about where this money goes, in the past it has been used to purchase books about software development and better UI practices and snacks for late night coding sessions.

2. Time & Skills

If you're an non-English speaker who would like help us develop a translation for your language, please contact Enrico for details.

If you're a software developer who would like to help build new plugins for getting information in and out of Books, please contact Chris for details.

If you're a frequent user with some opinions about Books, please consider leaving a review on sites such as MacUpdate, VersionTracker, or iusethis.

3. Bug Reports and Suggestions

Books is only as good as the feedback that it receives. Since Books is developed by a handful of people working in their spare time, bugs and other problems will slip through. If you find such a problem, please don't hesitate to let us know so that we can fix it in the next release.

Likewise, if you have some ideas about how we can improve Books, please consider leaving a note on the Books wiki.

Thanks again for giving Books a try and we look forward to continuing improving and expanding this project.
